Ah.
Finally.
:) I can’t wait for snow again! I wanna take pics of pretty snowflakes! <3
So this means I gotta work real hard. D: Sigh. this just complicated things for me.
Update:
I just worked it out. It’ll take me 3 months to get things back to where they were. :D Hopefully I stay within the budget. :D
Weekend Trip to Washington D.C.
Alright, the basics first:
Organizer: Residence Hall Association
Date: April 8-10
Occasion: National Cherry Blossom Festival
Accommodation: Courtyard by Marriotts, Tyson’s Corner.
Price: $49.
We were given so much free time, since all they had to do was drive us to Constitution Ave to watch the 10am parade and we were left to our own devices after that.
Firstly, this trip taught me that I should probably pick my traveling companions wisely. I’ll talk about that later.
Secondly, I got to see most of the places I wanted to see, take pretty pictures, and go shopping! 3-in-1 combo that’s difficult to top. hee.
So yes, I went up the Washington Monument, got up close to Abraham Lincoln’s statue at the Lincoln Memorial, and checked out the Jefferson Memorial. I didn’t get to go inside the White House’s compound, since that would mean I have to take up a lot of time just to queue up. Wish I had the luxury of time. Anyway, I went to the Smithsonian Institute, the castle. I’ve seen castles before, thanks to my UK trips, and sadly, this fell short of my expectations. Kinda makes you wonder just how Americans define a castle, actually. It’s a red building, with towers, but doesn’t even evoke any familiarity one would have with a typical castle. But let’s just humor them, shall we? So, I thought the Smithsonian Museum would be just like the British Museum. Turns out that it also fell short of my expectations. They had museums, and none manage to provoke any ounce of interest from me. I guess the British Museum spoiled all other museums for me.
I went to the International Spy Museum, which costs $18 just for entry, and you can’t take pictures. So, didn’t go in, but went to the gift shop instead.
Love the t-shirts there. Bought a few things. Also stumbled on the Sakura Matsuri, the Cherry Blossom Festival. It was fun, but the things sold there are generally expensive. Still, I managed to get a few pictures with some cosplayers, most of whom are African Americans, funnily enough.
All in all, I did a speed-tour of Washington DC downtown, but savored it all the same. =)
Pictures? Yes, coming right up.
- White House, in passing.
- Chinatown, in passing.
- National Archive, in passing.
- Washington Monument
- ‘Nuff Said.
- Cosplayers at the parade.
- Men in uniform. ;)
- World War II Memorial
- Lincoln Memorial
- Sakura Matsuri
- One of the better cosplaying groups
- Smithsonian Institute
- National Cherry Blossom Kite Festival
- the White House from Washington Monument.
- Obligatory Shot.
- International Spy Museum :)
Now, I shall talk more about traveling companions. This was such a nightmare. >.< A slow, agonizing death.
I made sure to take note of places where my companion wanted to go and do, and I informed her of the things I would dearly love to do, and see. Of course, being the polite and generous person that I am, I made it a point that we did and saw all the things she wanted first, and then get on with my program. Ah, and here we see the obstinate jaw jut out. Such unbecoming behavior. She started whining about how her feet hurt, and how we wouldn’t have ample time to do all the things, and why we should go back to rest. At first, I agreed, yes, perhaps we should stop somewhere and rest and then pick up where we left off. I thought that would at least appease her or something. Oh, no, no. Such a trivial accommodation to her needs are too minute, not enough to compensate her for her pain. In fact, we were at the festival, and I assisted her wholeheartedly in finding the shop and item that she wanted, and as soon as she got what she wanted, she was ready to leave. At this, I thought to myself, there, there now… she’s just tired. it’s just the fatigue talking. So I told her that we would wander around to a few more stalls, and then we’ll go. I did just that, kept to my word to the “few” (2-3 stalls) and then we set off.
That night, I asked her if she wanted to come along with me to the mall. We would get a shuttle to go there. She agreed. I thought with at least 1 hour to recuperate, she would be some sort of more agreeable than before. She was, until she decided that she was sleepy, after walking for only 15 minutes after dinner. Yes, I too, was exhausted, but I trudged on, without a single complaint too. She simply could not keep her opinions of how exhausted she was to herself. I could deal with perhaps 1-2 repetitions of such proclamations, but really, do you really need to say more than 5 times every 5 minutes? Pull a face each time I pop into a shop? I did ask you to come if you wanted to, but perhaps you should have given more thought as to how exhausted you were and not come along if you were so tired. Then perhaps, you wouldn’t need to bother me incessantly with your wellbeing. I have limits too.
Nevertheless, again, I accommodated to her whims and exhaustion and agreed to go back earlier. The next day, I told her, I’d like to visit a few places, but we would visit the places she wanted to see first. Ah, she repeated her behavior from the day before. I was nearing the end of my sanity, so to speak, and also my limited patience. My friends would vouch for me and tell you that they have hardly ever seen me blown my top off, and all they’ve seen would be controlled anger. So controlled that at first glance, I really do look like I’m enjoying myself instead of seething with venomous anger. I snapped at her, a few times, in several scenarios. Let me enlighten you.
Scenario #1: A foreign tourist came up to us, and spoke in broken English (he’s from China), and asked me about certain things about the Washington Monument. When he went away, she commented that “[she] get[s] annoyed when they don’t bother to learn the language first before coming here.” Oh dear me. How ignorant can you be? “I’m also talking about illegal immigrants.” I pointed out to her, in the hopes of enlightening her with the ways of the world that she obviously is not acquainted with as of yet, that those illegal immigrants are here because they are desperate, in need of job opportunities, and that tells us that they lack the privilege of proper education, and hence, unable to learn the language of the country that they intend to sneak into. She shut up.
Scenario #2: After coming down from Washington Monument from which I managed to take a few shots of the White House, she asked me if I was still keen on going to the White House itself. I said I was. She replied by saying, “But you’ve already seen it from the Monument!” I refrained myself – trust me, I have greater control over my tongue these days – from pointing out to her that seeing it from afar is not the same as going there and relishing the sight up close for yourself, much like her obsession with the Washington Monument (she could never stop talking about it, and would each time point out to it while we are walking, and kept on saying how much she’d like to go up there soon). Alas, I was too kind. I merely said, “But I still want to go there. You can stay here if you want.” She refused, and followed me instead.
Scenario #3: I told her earlier in the day that we should try to go back by 2pm, i.e. finish touring downtown DC. She expressed her doubts that we could make it on time. I told her we could try. My last place to visit was the International Spy Museum, and by 1.30pm, we were still waiting for the train. By 1.50pm, we had just arrived at the last station before setting out to find said museum. Now, throughout that time, she would not stop talking about how we could not possibly make it by 2pm. Yes, thank you, I am very much aware of the time constraint and the sheer improbability of making it on time. Really, repeating yourself at least twice every five minutes isn’t getting you anywhere. Besides, we were already on-board the train, what else can you do? I did offer for her to stay somewhere – perhaps the National Archives – and I would fetch her on the way back. An offer she refused, on the count that she was afraid that we would get lost. Pardon me for asking, but how on earth can you get lost if you stay put in one place and just wait there? Nevertheless, I refrained from asking such a question, knowing that it would do nothing but sully my good, diplomatic reputation. Finally, just as we were walking towards the museum, she voiced out her doubts again, and I finally snapped and said, “I know.” Do understand, dear reader, that the italics emphasize the word, and I actually did use the same tone when telling her that. So she shut up.
I pointedly told her that she should feel free to head off to the hotel whilst I make use of my remaining time at the mall and come back by 4. She refused, saying that she would not know what to do with her time (we were to depart at 5pm), and decided to tag along. *inward groan and gnashing of teeth* I duly informed her that there will be lots of walking, and she should feel free also to take rest at her own liberty, and that I would not be impeded by her incessant whining. Of course, that last part was hinted at, and never explicitly said.
Besides that, she has shown unattractive tendencies to invade my privacy and claim my company as her own. On several occasions when I received text messages and replied, I noticed and caught her looking at my screen, trying to read what was being typed. She even had the audacity to meet my pointed stare with a defiant one of her own, as though my attentions should only be tailored to her, and her alone. I did not say a word at this, but merely quirked an eyebrow to show how unamused I was at her unflattering behavior. Perhaps because I did not voice out my discomfort or displeasure at this behavior, she continued to do so at various points of our travels, unabashed. Even when I emphatically turned my body away and shield the screen away from her prying eyes, she still strove to see what was being written. I ignored her completely after that, not caring at all if she said anything at all.
I’m sorry for sounding so sarcastic, and entirely too proper in my sarcasm. sigh. In a nutshell, this is what she did to annoy me:
- Being selfish – after completing her tasks, etc, she wanted to go back to the hotel.
- Whining – once is enough, maybe twice and I shall still be friendly… but ALL THE FREAKING TIME?
- Scowling when things don’t go her way
- Being ignorant and speaking like an idiot savant – watch your words before you speak la. Mau kena sepak ka?
- Invading my privacy – i caught her looking at the screen of my phone while I typed messages or checked in on foursquare.
I hope to Heaven and All Things Good that I wouldn’t have this sort of traveling companion ever. Completely immature, ignorant, and inconsiderate. =.= Lesson learned: Lay down the ground rules before agreeing to an offer of a traveling companion. Do not accept just because you pity them (I’m an independent traveler, so I don’t mind traveling alone – I do bring my pepper spray and whatnot.)
Here are things I expect:
- Flexibility – plans can and will change. Of course, I will try to accommodate your wants and needs and whims, and I expect the same in return.
- Endurance & Patience – our feet will hurt from walking, yes, so don’t start whining. If you need rest, speak up, and we can arrange that. If someone needs rest, don’t pull a face. If you are so adamant of going through with your plan, offer an alternative.
- Good conversation – I’m not interested in what you’re doing to your feet in order to relieve your pain. ’nuff said.
- Consideration – be kind to one another. =.=
- Manners – especially when asking for help. Lack of manners speak volumes about your character. It shows that you don’t take other people’s feelings or circumstances into consideration.
- Frankness – if you’ve got something that bothers you, speak up! Don’t beat around the bush or formulate a mathematical solution or compose an epic poem. Just say it as it is. =.=
Gah. I look forward to seeing DC again, with different company next time.
of reunions, shopping and fatigue.
After much fussing about and calling to and fro, Yeet Chien and Lynn finally found their way out of downtown Chicago and reached my place. :D We did a little catching up, and teased the thorn among the roses for a little bit. Don’t know why, but I do so love teasing them. XD it’s like sharing Lynn’s playtoy. XD hahahahahhahaha. not exactly an appropriate term, but what the heck, i meant it affectionately.
Anyway, YC cooked dinner, after we had a little bit of chicken caesar pizzar. =) yummy! We decided to take a group pic, and hung around doing nothing. ah. the bliss of holidays. Lynn had her much-needed rest before our shopping spree, while YC studied a bit and I didn’t sleep at all but made sure we left the house in a tidy state, just in case my cousins who went to Ohio came back earlier than we did.
Black Friday was… uneventful much for me. I bought the winter essentials though, but couldn’t muster enough energy to go along with Lynn and YC on a mad spree in N. Michigan Ave (a.k.a Magnificent Mile). Oh well. I went home earlier too, while they did last few bits of shopping. I nearly toppled over in fatigue. XD By the time I got back, I was well-rested from my nap in front of Forever 21 waiting for Lynn. XD DARN IT. But i made it back in time though, and spruce the place up a wee bit and waited for my cousins to return from their trip.
Once Lynn and YC got back, we went out for DINNER! <3 had a wonderful dinner at Tank’s! a Vietnamese restaurant. they serve the best curry chicken rice evah. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. lol. we saw Jyo Lin, Tee Jin, and some others there. what a coincidence. XD anyway, we slept like logs that night, and YC developed a bad cough, which wasn’t helped by his silliness to sleep downstairs with just a thin blanket. == So they had to leave the next day, so after we dropped them off at Chinatown, Abang Tuah and Kakak Minda took me to Old Orchard up north outside Evanston. It was awesome. Saw Nordstrom and a few other shops there! Too bad it wasn’t Black Friday anymore. Sigh. anyway, they bought me a nice pair of boots! So happy! and I bought a few books from the Barnes & Noble’s. XD hahahahahah. oops.
I’m back in West Virginia, now looking forward to my Texas trip after finals. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
of obsession, miniatures and eBay
It’s made out of simple materials. All I did was erm, acquire a few stirring sticks from Starbucks and Burger King, and made this! haha. The little flowers, dragonfly and teddy bear are actually cut out of polymer clay canes that I recently bought from eBay. Cheap deals.
I bought about 100 sticks. Should last me a long time, I suppose. And the bluish flowers are punched out of memo paper I had in hand, and I wrote some bible verses with colored pens on each of them. This is just part of my experiments, so you’re free to try it out for yourself, and let me know of any other ideas that you’d like to see implemented. If I could, I would.
Here’s a close up of the ends. There’s a sakura flower and some pink rolls. This is for the teddy bear bookmark, since I would have each of them display 3 miniature stickers.
I bought about 130 miniature plates. I’m not crazy, it’s just that I want it to be a one-time deal, and I’ll work from there. Could probably save me a huge amount of money too in the long run.
So, if you have any ideas on what kind of food should I make, let me know. =D Don’t worry by the sheer number of the plates that you can see in the picture on the left, that’s only about 15 plates. I’ll let you know if I’m nearing my limit of 130 plates.
Alrighty. Next up would be this picture of assorted items. From the far left would be two sets of jewelry display bust, in black and white, and in front of those two would be a burger in a display case, and at the back would be a vintage coffee grinder, followed by an oil lamp, and a water fountain, with a 12pc-set of silverware, and a sewing box next to the bucket of kitchenware. The bird cage looks glorious here, and slightly further back would be a metal serving tray, with the cockerel teacup and saucer. =D
I’ll give you a better shot soon, since this one favors the birdcage more. Hang on a bit while I fumble around for the next shot.
Alrighty. Here’s a different perspective. As you can see, the sewing kit has some thread, and a measuring tape in it, which i plan to use as a sample for future endeavors into making such items. And the display busts, burger display case, fountain, serving tray and birdcage will be used to display items such as jewelry, food, and tiny birds that I plan on making. I’m so excited!
As for the water fountain and cockerel teacup and saucer, those will be used to reproduce many more in their likeness. Especially once I know how to mold. =D hehehe. I don’t buy things randomly, I usually have some purpose behind them. However vague they may be, at least I know they would be useful somewhat.
Alrighty. Lookie here! Flowers! Miniature flowers, to be precise. I don’t know what they are, but the petals and flowers looked so dainty I just couldn’t help but to get them! And I adore them so much, that I’m gonna make more of them! Haha. I might just look up on flower arranging tutorials, just to see if it would look nice in miniature too. I believe I have lilies and hyacinth, but I’m not quite sure anyway. I’ll look it up sometime later.
So, for the next picture, it’ll be about …
This! Harry Potter book collection! Yay! Okay, it was cheap, inclusive of shipping, so I scrambled to get it. I searched for Tolkien too, but I guess he’ll just have to wait. All seven books in the Harry Potter series. It’s printed on the inside too, but I couldn’t read what it said, certainly not gibberish I hope. They look almost like the real thing, only smaller. I don’t know what sort of books I would like to make some day, but these would be guideline.
Alrighty, we’re almost nearing the end of the post and pretty pictures, so I’ll give a hint as to certain things I’d like to make soon!
Yeah. So ice creams, jelly maybe, and some chemical compounds! I especially love seeing powdered forms of the copper(II) sulphate and such on watch glasses. So pretty! Especially when they’re crystallized! So, have a great weekend, and hope that my pictures have somewhat enticed you into this miniature world. =D
a great weekend.
i consider myself to be fortunate. even in a foreign land, i’m surrounded by familiarity. family and friends are here to support me. God is with me. i’m not alone.
i spent my first labor day weekend with family, in chicago. my parents are still around, and will be leaving this wednesday. i’m gonna miss them so bad.
anyway, we had a great time together, with my cousins, as we went around chicago. we took a trip to field museum, which has a dinosaur exhibit, among others. we wanted to go to the aquarium, but the queue was too long. and then we basically had a homely dinner the last night i was there. =) i love it. =D
i bought a few items, increasingly aware of the toll i’m taking on my parents’ income.
so i didn’t exactly splurge. in fact, i’ve stopped splurging. for now, i’m gonna focus on saving up and studying smart. hehe. and spending my time wisely. yay!
had a great videocall with lynn just now, just catching up. =D exchanged our addresses so that we can mail each other stuffs. sumthg like care packages? only smaller. lol. anyway, thank you, Daddy, for this life you’ve given me. my family, my hopes and dreams, my friends, my life. =) it is awesome as it is, and i hope that we’ll continue to make it awesomer. hehe.
among the things i bought were a pair of jeans, a few undergarments, t-shirts, jacket, flip-flops, and various other stationery.
i love it. weeeeee. hehehe. okies, time for me to get busy.
list of things to do:
- Timetable – personal & class
- Unpack -> laundry
- Filing -> bills, receipts, important documents.
- Homework -> chemistry, history, forensics, physics, japanese
the aftermath of a hectic week.
this is a review of my week, and things that i’ve found out about US. XD
i’ve just come back from a meeting – Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. it’s not so far from my place, so i’m just gonna give it a shot. i planned to adjourn to Campuse Crusade’s meeting at Eisland Hall, downtown, but it’s just way too far and way too dark for me to want to go down there tonight. and i’m freaking tired. exhausted, like seriously.
anyway, i kinda like my life here. i’m settling down so slowly, that my facebook account is facing a stunted life. lol. yeah, those were the days when you just remembered the new kid’s name and add him on facebook after meeting him. but hey, now i’m the new kid here. and i gotta work my way in. O.o but God has been gracious. =)
anyway, it kinda sucks being new. really.
but i like it so far. history class just got more interesting, and i found myself liking machiavelli’s the prince. anyway, i can now conclude that i’m getting more and more comfortable with the subjects i’m taking, despite the fact that they’re all heavy, and i have a heavy workload this semester. i’m fine with that. =)
anyway, there’s this history major who sat next to me in class. =) he’s kinda nice, and really chatty. but rather good too. =) nice guy. think he’s 18. XD hahahah. added him on facebook. ooh, and i started my day off with a fresh lemonade at the campus crusade stand. which was kinda cool! they seemed nice, but yeah, most people here are nice. i think i’m just gonna stick to intervarsity cf, since it seems small, and it’ll be easier to meet more people that way.
erm. well, i thought i was going to be really swamped here, but looks like i’m handling things very well, if i may say so myself. mwahaha. i’ve discovered a better way to get to class early and not miss the quizzes – pray really hard your professor lets you off earlier. which they did. today! i had back to back classes at different buildings, and well, let’s just say it was hard work getting to those buildings. but i prayed really hard, and it didn’t help that i had to skip my lunch and breakfast, but ahhh, was it worth it? definitely. came back, ate some noodles, had nesvita and took a power nap. =) awesome life.
and, i wanna talk about my roommate. i like her. =) she’s nice, and she’s really helpful. plus, we have a few common interests, and she was once a forensics major. before she switched to criminology. which i think is still cool. =D and she would be taking some dance classes sometime this semester, which i hope she remembers to update me about cause i’d like to take them too. anyway, she’s just nice. =) and without any of those melodramatic tendencies. i think she’s got a reasonable and cool head for things. =) mwahahahahaha. thanks, God. =) oh, and she’s from OHIO. =)
alrighty… that’s my post so far. and i shall be away this weekend to chicago. there’s an upcoming baltimore trip that i wanna discuss with my parents. i’m hoping my roomie can go too. XD oh, and i’m planning a thanksgiving trip to chicago for the black friday sales. weeee. lynnie planning to come with me as well! nice la. and ebay rocks. hahah. and my textbooks arrived. yay! so happy! mwahaha. alrighty. i wanna get back to psych. =)
a little shell-shocked.
well. to be honest, i was cocky enough to think i’ve got american culture pinned down, and figured out. bet it doesn’t take you long to figure out how wrong i was. truth was, i got a little uncomfortable at times, and sometimes, felt a little bodoh for not knowing things. hahaha. anyways, i’m glad i came over =)
Toilets
I know they’re called restrooms. Whatever. I don’t mind that. My problem was that they have gaps between the walls of the cubicles that are big enough for people to take a peep from. Talk about voyeurism. UGH. I thought it was just the airport, but I was sadly mistaken when I found that it’s a norm even in my uni. great! ugh….!!!
Cords on buses
Lol. Frankly, I’ve only pulled the cord ONCE to request a stop. Gah! I was wondering why don’t they use buttons, but my senior says it’s easier to just pull the cord. Weird people, but okay.
Phone plans
I hate this part. I like the free phone that comes with the plan, but I hate paying for it postpaid. I don’t get it man. Why can’t they make the prepaid cheaper than postpaid and then it’ll be easier for everyone? Like Malaysia. Isn’t that in the true capitalist spirit?
Carpets
Woo. I like this. =) Carpeted floor everywhere, and it’s just so comfy. But if it’s dirty… hahaha, good luck to you!
Cars yielding to pedestrians
I quite like this one. =) Although I feel bad for the drivers who have to stop quite a distance away to let the pedestrians walk. I usually jog a little so they wouldn’t have to wait long. They’re usually very nice, and some people would smile at you too. =)
Huge stores & huge stuff.
The Walmart and Target stores here are HUGE. wow! My parents and I were like sakais when we saw it. And then our eyes gleamed with greed as we wandered around. But the problem was, I couldn’t find the right size for my stationery organizer. they were either too long or too big.
Guess Texas isn’t the only one that has big stuff.XD
Waiters & Waitresses
Well, for one, they have a smile on their face. Two, they can talk your ears off. And they are so uber friendly and helpful.XD I like them. =) TGIF back in Malaysia does the same thing, but seeing it all the time when you’re here kinda makes you feel so pampered and wanted.XD
To go or for here?
No more “takeaways” or “ta pau” or “bungkus”. Lol. It wasn’t so hard to get used to it. Oh, and the to-go packs, are awesome! If you’re taking away drinks, then they give you fresh ones, meaning they won’t pour your unfinished drinks into a to-go cup. And the to-go packages are HUGE. wow. I’m still amazed really. XD Oh man, I’m craving for more chicken fried chicken.yummy! it’s huge. About 10inches long. XD
Dry-erase & Pronged folders & Accents
Stationery here are named differently.
Dry-erase markers are whiteboard markers and pronged folders use paper fasteners instead of the long plastic strips that we normally use back home. O.o Accents are highlighters. My vocabulary is enriched somewhat. XD

Dubai – Part 2
Well, after spending two nights in Dubai, we left for Manchester. The last night in Dubai was fun. Uncle John and Aunt Sharon took us for a boat ride. It was at the Al-Shindagha, if I’m not mistaken. We had a great time at the Old Souk. Souk is market in Arabic, apparently.
Mum really slaughtered this merchant (woots, finally get to use this word) when she bought souvenirs for half the price EACH. >.< Uncle John took us to a South Indian restaurant in Kawarma. We had a HUGE thosai, and purri. I loved the purri. It was delicious. =] Tasted a lot like char kueh. Anyway, after that, we walked to a souvenir shop. I loved the bowls there, because they were so colorful. But then, too expensive. EVERYTHING in that shop was so freaking expensive. Uncle John then took us to another souvenir shop just round the corner, and well, it looked like this strange shop selling strange yet wonderful things, which was exactly what it was. No price tag on anything, so we kept asking the man how much was this, how much was that, and then we just put the souvenirs on the counter and let our mum do the haggling. LOL. Poor man. I’ve yet to acquire such a useful and menacing skill, but can’t help thinking I’d have to delve into the “Ah Ma” level to haggle. >.< Not ready for that yet.
Then, with the souvenirs happily purchased at a minimum of 50% each, we went home. Trust me, we spent a fortune on those souvenirs. About DH430. >.< Oh, we got free Pepsi. XD Then we went out with Aunt Sharon, to another shopping mall. Bought myself a new pair of walking shoes, and a few more souvenirs and ate New York Fries. Yummeyh.
We went home, rested a bit, and had dinner. Aunt Sharon cooked fried rice, and soup. Delicious. Julian made cupcakes. Nice! =] After dinner, we headed to Al-Shindagha for a boat ride. We went to the Heritage Village, and basically they had replicas of Bedouin men on a replica boat. They were showcasing the lives of the olden days Arabs. Oh, I mistakenly pointed out a group of lifelike replicas sitting outside Bedouin tents. I was like, “WHOA. THAT is awesome!” and pointed. The man turned to me. Oops. They were real after all.
We walked a distance, and walked further to the boat port. >.< That was really far. Gosh. But we had fun. =]
We were really exhausted from the ride and walk, and had a sound sleep that night. The next morning, Aunt Sharon took us to another South Indian restaurant, which she said Uncle John doesn’t like, but she does. Haha. So we had a blast there too. Tried the purri, which was HUGE, and less oily, so it was good. =]
Returned home, did some last minute packing and by 11am, we were off to the airport. Catch more in the next post, “Manchester.”

anyway,i’ve spent almost about RM 800 i suppose. i set a limit earlier on, since JPA gave us an extra RM 800,even though we aren’t schooling during the two-month break.
so yeah. lynnie was just exaggerating. 1k??? gawd. i wouldn’t dream of it. anyway, my suit case will be rather full with new clothes. thank goodness i only brought back few pieces i like to wear. hmmph. i bought mostly basic stuff, like short pants, since my shorts are always easily torn…so i bought pre-loved ones which only cost me RM 10. hehe. thanks to precious preloved. she’s a lovely gal who was very courteous and friendly throughout the transaction. go view her shop if you want something cheap and lovely.
every shopaholic needs extra moolah to shop more… lmao.

oh. correction. i spent about RM 811. bleh. including postage. hmm. wow. i can’t believe it. i do think it’s a good bargain though. when i get back to kl, i will try to reduce it by doing CODs. we see first lah. i don’t wanna waste too much money if i can help it. haiyo.
on a totally different note, will post about my holidays next time. with pics.
EDIT: this is a screenshot of the blogshops that i frequent for their prrty clothes.
a few little things to do…
well, i’ve been kept rather busy lately. let’s see…
my insomnia’s back. =.=”" poor me. i can’t sleep well at night nowadays because of the nightmares i get. either nightmares or some weird feeling like i’m not really sleeping properly… and i wake up with a jolt… that or dreams that i’m falling into deep abyss. you know what, i much prefer the dreams where i am distressed with the extent of my nakedness (read: wearing only a towel) on my way to school (i’m sure we all have such embarrassing dreams like that before – though i have it far more frequent than i ever thought was possible).
anyway, i found a penpal, whom i thought was nice, until he started asking lewd and crude questions. gawd. bad experience, but we all learn from them after all. so now i know the basic m.o. so the next time i’ll write up something about knowing such people. ugh. lewd.
ooo. and i’ve found an interesting craft thingy to do…hehehe… so i’m kinda occupied lately. thanks to my dad who’s also interested in the same thing (he got me interested in it actually…teehee).
also, i’m kinda occupied with banking and stuff, since i’ve been doing online shopping as well. tee hee. i have new clothes for xmas!!! plus some awesome outfits to wear for my college next year! yeah baby! time to woo some guys off their feet. oops. did i say that out loud? hehe, it’s just for fun, seriously. woot! i just adore receiving so many stuff. =] even though i’m the one buying all those stuff.

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. — Winston Churchill
Nature gave men two ends – one to sit on and one to think with. Ever since then man’s success or failure has been dependent on the one he used most.

k. right now i’m in a bit of a dilemma because i really am serious about starting my own arts and crafts business. hee. the thing is, i’m stuck with lots of ideas of what to do, but no idea which one to pick. i’m planning to do paper quilling, which is something unique, and really would stand out among all the other crafts i’ve seen so far. the thing is now, i wanna buy some books abt it, but i’m not sure which ones to choose. haiz. i’m going to ask my cousin if she’d mind buying those books for me, plus the starter kit, but it’ll probably cost a bomb if i don’t make my choice properly. haiz. kk. i think i can make my own choice now. haiz.
